I purchased this 1982 GS650G new on Feb. 16, 1985. It is the 1st of 2 red GS650G models that I purchased and is identified elsewhere on this site as 'GS650G Red1.' It was new and unsold in a dealer's showroom 3 years after its model year and was purchased for a bargain price.

This machine is currently one of my 'riders' although it has been stored for varying periods and then returned to service. For details visit my Motorcycle Storage Information Page, refer to the section for 'GS650G Red1.'

The GS650G is pictured above on Mount Evans west of Denver, Colorado at an approximate elevation of 13800ft (4206 meters). As with the GS250T, the GS650G has completed a number of trips up the mountain. Overshadowed by the larger and faster 1000cc and 1100cc models of its day yet still offering a very comfortable riding position, digital gear indicator, consistent and accurate fuel gauge, smooth ride and fine performance, the GS650G model is one of the great underrated machines of the early 1980's. I have owned this machine for over 25 years and still look forward to each and every ride on it.
