In order to update your GPS device: BMW Serie X5 (E70) with the latest update, follow next instructions.

First of all, be sure you got the update file for your BMW Serie X5 (E70) device, downloaded from SpeedcamUpdates.com.

If still haven't got it, you can get it now filling the form you see on this page.

  1. Extract files from the SpeedcamUpdates zip package. If the file you have downloaded is not a ZIP file means the file is already decompressed, and you can continue with the next step of this installation instructions.
    2. Requirements
    The file you've received is an ISO file. It has to be recorded in a DVD+R disc. So you will have to use a DVD Recorder. You will need DVD+R discs. If you've purchased All Europe option, you will need 3 DVD+R discs.
  2. Using your favorite recording software, record the ISO image into a DVD+R disc.
  3. Insert your recorded DVD into your Professional Navigator. The new disc will be detected. iDrive suggests to turn off your system and waits for 5 minutes. You can do it and wait for 5 minutes, or you can reboot your iDrive system, pressing Volume Button, Eject CD, and Eject DVD all of them at same time. Then new disc will be read. And your system is ready with the new disc.
  4. Speedcam Icon, which is a red circle will be shown on the map by default. You don't need to do anything else.
  5. Do login into your Porsche account thru My Porsche
  6. Once you connected to MyPorsche website, select Services option.
  7. Then, select Portal List POIs button.
  8. Now, press Configure Portal List POIs button
  9. Press upload destination list button.
  10. Press browse button.
  11. You will need the files downloaded from our website.
  12. Upload each file and save it.
  13. Press now the button for updating the destination lists in your vehicle.
  14. Finally press the switch button and set it into the green state.
  15. Turn on your BMW Serie X5 (E70) GPS device.
  16. Press NAV button.
  17. Touch in the screen, the Special Destinations button.
  18. Now touch the Search Nearby button.
  19. Touch Portal Special Destinations.
  20. Touch Update List
  21. Select your user login to connect to the MyPorsche portal
  22. Touch the Online Update button.
  23. Check the box for downloading the new available package and press the start button.
  24. Now you can enable new pois to be shown in the map. Select MAP. Select OPT. Select Map View. Select Map Layers. Check the box for new POIs and select all the new categories still not checked.
  25. Audio warning can be enabled too. Select SET MAP. Select Notices. Select POI Proximity Warnings. Check the box for Enable Proximity Warnings feature.

Installation tips:
1. If your BMW E46/M3 only come with CD player and radio in the dash, the installation is very easy, just need to take out your original CD player/radio, and then connect the power cable with our bmw e46 dvd, then push it back into the dash, and relocate the air conditioning unit under our e46 navigation where the storage compartment is(a relocation kit is not necessary), that's all. Q: I just bought a 2004 330 CI convertible E 46 with her businessman CD, it says it’s wired for phone, cd changer, although there is not one in the trunk. It has the harman Kardon hi -if so I’m guessing it has an amp somewhere. I was reading through your stuff and it says The amp will not work? Is that correct? Also the battery is in the trunk if that matters. How are usually I have not been able to figure everything out yet but desperately want to be able to use my phone when driving the car.

Q: I see everywhere you claim that a climate control relocation kit or bracket is not needed. Are you removing the double single DIN frame on the original Business model? I am not able to fit the climate control panel in with the frame there. I notice in your install pics that frame is missing. Does the head unit just screw to the dash where the frame mounted?

A: Hi, you can just push the climate control panel into the position where the storage compartment is if you don't use a bracket to relocate it. Actually, most of our customers installed this BMW E46 navigation without a relocation kit.

A: DVB-T is digital TV which is widely used in Europe and Australia, but can not use in USA or Canada. If you can not make sure if DVB-T can work in your area or not, it's better not choose this option.
